1.) Alex D. Flood:Toy Maker

2.) Alex's House

Once upon a time in a small green wood,

lived an elf by the name of Alex D. Flood.

3.) Alex at Work

He made his living by making fine toys

for all of the forest's small girls and boys.

4.) Alex's Toys

He made the most wonderful toys you have ever seen,

with whistles that whistled and sirens that screamed.

5.) Rocking Horse and Train

The rocking horses had long silken tails,

The wind up trains ran on small golden rails.

6.) Dollhouse

The fire engine hoses squirted pink lemonade.

The four story doll houses each featured a maid.

7.) Dolls and Clown

The dolls had bright eyes that cried ginger ale tears,

The clowns wore red noses and bright turquoise ears.

8.) Polishing each tiny hair

Each toy was made with such loving care,

Alex would oil each wheel and shine each tiny hair.

9.) Lines of People

The children and grownups came from miles around,

10.) Shelves of Toys

To buy wagons and yo-yos and perhaps a merry-go-round.

11.) Teddy Bear in Distress

The best part was that each had a guarantee,

If a toy was broken, he would fix it for free.

12.) Teddy Bear Repair

He would patch a doll's elbow or teddy bear's ear,

Mend a bent axle or oil a gear.

13.) Sweet Dreams

That is why Alex's toys lasted such a long while,

Bringing hours of laughter and sleepy time smiles.

14.) Making a Wish

So if someday you receive a toy bright and new,

Perhaps it's a toy made by Alex especially for you.
