Many people ask me how I got started in the stuffed animal business, and I would have to say it all began with a love for animals. I would like to introduce you to our animal crew. A couple are inherited, one was rescued...but they are all characters. When you live in a building well over a hundred years old, cats are a must for pest control and ghost spotting!

Mim

Meet Mim ( the Miminator), who has made herself the center of attention. Ever on an adventure, she is adept at opening cabinet doors, climbing ladders and generally going where no cat has gone before. She is in charge of everything and everyone. She is very adept at opening any container containing coffee creamer, which seems to hold some special place on her list of favorites. She does a pretty good rendition of "hello" and is a very vocal member of the crew. She has also turned out to be a very good helper with the numerous construction projects, recently helping to remove an old carpet with tooth and nail.

Emily

Emily ( Ems) is a tripod, or three-legged cat. She lost her rear leg when a kitten. Just recently I realized her favorite spot to be scratched is anyplace she can't reach due to the lack of her leg. She never liked being petted much so it was a funny discovery. Emily spends alot of time propping herself up, but is able to jump as well as almost any cat. Her primary goal seems to be making sure every water dish is filled and she will search for me if one happens to need filling, meowing until I take care of it.

Kai

Kai ( the Kai Monster) is the most recent addition to the crew. He came from Tri Casa, an animal shelter. He is the most well-mannered cat I have ever met, and the only adjustment has been to the personalities who rule the 7000+ square feet of their domain. He has chosen this spot as his favorite. Big blue eyes seem to always be saying thank you for a new home. Kai claims he was lost not abandoned...but he is still happy to have found a peaceful place to live. Kai carries himself with great dignity and restraint, but he is learning to play which involves alot of biting. We're working on it, though.

Politically Correct Terms for Cat Owners

My cat does not barf hairballs, he is a floor/rug redecorator.

My cat does not break things, she helps gravity do its job.

My cat does not fear dogs, they are merely sprint practice tools.

My cat does not gobble, she eats with alacrity.

My cat does not scratch, he is a furniture/rug/skin ventilator.

My cat is not a "shedding machine", she is a hair relocation stylist.

My cat is not a "treat-seeking missile", she enjoys the proximity of food.

My cat is not a chatterbox, she is advising me on what to do next.

My cat is not a dope addict, she is catnip appreciative.

My cat is not a ruthless hunter, she is a wildlife control expert.

My cat is not evil, she is badness enhanced.

My cat is not fat, he is mass enhanced.

My cat is not hydrophobic, she has an inability to appreciate moisture.

My cat is not underfoot, she is shepherding me to my next destination (which should always be the food dish).
