The African Hunting Dog lives on the Savannas throughout Africa. It lives in packs and hunts large game in a well organized manner. Some members of the pack will pursue the prey and as they tire, other members of the pack will take over, eventually wearing down their prey. It has a large head and rounded ears like a hyena, but is part of the dog family. The pack cares for the pups as soon as they are able to begin hunting with the pack, but mom cares for them when they are very young. More African Wild Dog facts below.
