A Collection of Stuffed Otters

Otters live all over the world, except Australia. The land otters are much smaller than sea otters, but both have sleek shiny fur and are agile swimmers. Land otters live in various waterways and often explore very far afield. They feed mainly on fish and crayfish. The sea otter usually spends his time within sight of land, but very rarely comes out of the water. They feed on fish and shellfish, diving to 300 feet. Mother sea otters often anchor their babies in kelp beds to keep them from floating away. More otter facts below.

Otters have very thick fur which keep them warm in water where they are most at home. But they must eat alot of food for fuel as well. Running out of things to eat is a big problem for otters. Sea otters do not have blubber like other marine mammals, the air trapped in their fur helps insulate them from the cold.
